Faced with a 27 hour flight back to Australia, I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to stop over in Dubai to catch some pre-summer rays and see a few friends. It was a bit of a whirlwind visit but I managed to fit in lots of food, sunshine and fun.

It started with a trip to the top of the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world), hours and hours of shopping at the Dubai Mall, and then dinner and drinks with my friend in the nearby souks.

The following day I was invited to join a friend and 15 of his friends at one of Dubai’s famous big brunches held at the Park Hyatt hotel. I didn’t really know what was in store… Basically, Dubai’s idea of brunch is 5 hours of unlimited food and drink in a ridiculously lavish and relaxing setting. I’m talking about unlimited champagne, mojitos and vodkas with fresh prawns, salmon, lobster, every kind of roast you can imagine, a whole suckling pig, an entire room dedicated to desserts (heaven!) and a cheese bar. It was exhausting trying to decide what to have next! We spent the next 8 hours bar hopping along the coast, before ending the night at a very random Filipino bar for dirty RnB. Fun times!

Before I knew it I was back at the airport, ready to make the rest of my journey back home.
